DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a nonapeptide first isolated from rabbit brain tissue in 1977. It is studied in sleep
physiology research for its apparent influence on sleep architecture and slow-wave sleep regulation. Research has also examined
DSIP’s apparent role in stress response biology, cortisol regulation, and neuropeptide signaling. As one of the few peptides
studied specifically in the context of sleep biology, DSIP provides a unique research tool for investigating peptidergic regulation of
sleep-wake cycles and circadian rhythm pathways in preclinical models.
